My head bows down with outmost respect for Anna Hazare for awakening million spirits to stand as one against corruption. One thing government did is to accept Anna’s proposal’s for Lokpal bill. Seems like Government did go to a panic mode once they realized how the whole movement spread like wildfire. I seriously doubt the integrity of present government in really accepting the proposals of Aann Hazare in the long run.

Corruption: Who is the culprit
Everyone in India, as we know, makes a fashion statement that almost all of our politicians are corrupt and the system is corrupted. The point I am trying to make here is who are these politicians? What makes a system? Who made them so called representatives to Assembly or Parliament? It is us PEOPLE.
When we as PEOPLE, misuse the power of VOTE and cast it on the basis of caste, creed, religion, money…we as people are nurturing this parasite called ‘corrupted politicians’. Why dig a hole (knowingly), fall into it and complain. Almost 40% of middle class and upper middle class people in India don’t even participate in voting. But the same people raise there voices against these so called ‘corrupted politicians’. Many a people say that we are forced to choose the best candidate among the two worst candidates contesting.

Possible Solution:
Let’s say we have an option of “No one to elect” on ballot paper and if the majority votes in a constituency are polled to this option of “No one to elect”, at least PEOPLE will have a voice to say that they are not interested in the contesting candidates. Now in this case, if there is no representative for the constituency, let the representative be Governor of the State for these “no one to elect” constituencies.
The true meaning of democracy is “for the people, by the people, to the people” … Then why are we forced to have to set of only candidates on the ballot paper. If everyone has a right to say in a democracy, we as PEOPLE, has the right to say “no one to elect too”…
Last but not least, in India if a MLA/MP resigns (for whatever reasons they have) before their term ends they shouldn’t be able to contest at least for the next 5 or so years. It’s the taxpayer’s money that is used to conduct elections.

Not just politicians, every citizen should be accountable to the country. The vendors who don’t pay their taxes, doctors or lawyers (those who don’t pay taxes), should also be accountable for their ill gotten money. Government should not only amend or propose bills but should also have independent citizen committees (not under bureaucracy) to overlook the implementation process.

Once again, my deep respects to Anna Hazare for igniting the fire in million spirits to see “Our India” progress..

Jai Hind
Suresh Matta
chilldesi@gamil.com

Babli Issue: Lets support our LEADER

I am writing this out of disgust and anguish over the treatment Chandrababu Naidu was metted out while protesting the Babli dam
issue in Nanded, Maharashtra. What is more stupid is other political parties are terming Naidu's act as being politically motivated. Ofcourse,
even a kid can tell that. Naidu might have his own plans or motives behind the issue. But the point is, he is doing it for a cause. The dam height will
deprieve alomost 60% of Telangana region of water necessary fot farming and drinking. Even though the case is pending in
Supreme Court, Maharashtra government is going ahead and building dam with irregular heights. Is that fair. Naidu is not protesting
to stop the construction of dam. All he is asking is to give a fair treatment so both states get equal share of water.
Definitely my blood boils for the treatment metted out to a Telugu Soldier(s). Instead of all the parties and individuals
getting together and protesting, absolute idiots are condemning Naidu's act. For all those "high commnad babus", please
wake up and see the future of deprieved lands in Telangana region. For the Tahckerey's, I would like to tell donot
mess with Telugu pride and stop your irresponsible feudal comments.
This is the time, not to talk about that Dam started during Naidu's regime. This is the time for all telugus to unite and
support for our fair share of water resources.
I AM NOT A TDP SUPPORTER.
JAI HIND
S.Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy: Tiger always ROARS

Written On 7/5/2010.

I am extremely delighted to see Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy going ahead with his proposed “Odarpu Yatra” amid absolute resistance from so called Congress “High Command”. To clear the air, I am not a Congress supporter. I am writing this only as a “Swabhimaan Telugu” person.

Someone said, Tiger’s cub always roars. Its absolutely true that our Telugu Bidda Y.S.Jagan started to prove that he is an able leader. All the ruckus, the other leaders are creating for the proposed yatra is absolutely ridiculous. Jagan clearly mentioned the yatra is personal and nothing to do with politics. Any ‘sane’ person can understand that going and consoling people who died(committed suicide) hearing news of beloved Shri.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy is only to console the people. What is wrong with that. Jagan did not give any political speeches during the past yatra’s.

Jagan reminds of one of the greatest telugu leader Shri.N.T.Rama Rao, who did not bestow to Delhi High command and reiterated Telugu Desam Party back to power after being dethroned in 1984 coup. N.T.R garu is absolutely a great telugu leader who showed every telugu person living in hook and corner of the world what exactly “telugu pride” is.

Every time I see news, I always hear 'high command..high command'. I sometimes feel whom we voted High Command or leaders. Is it the only mantra our leaders have. People voted to see leaders/politicians work for betterment of society not chant “High Command” astothara every second.

I believe Y.S.Jagan is not trying to send a “dikkat” to high command. He is proving that what he is trying to do has nothing to do with politics. This is the type of leader Andhra Pradesh needs in future who can take decisions that he believe are right and good.

I sincerely applaud Y.S.Jagan for his courageous and non compromising attitude in doing what he believes is right to do. Good to go “Tiger”.

Jai Hind

S.Matta

chilldesi@gmail.com

OCTOBER 2ND..GANDHI JAYANTHI..!!

WRTTEN ON OCTOBER 2ND 2009...

Gandhi Jayanthi:
Today our great nation and the whole world celebrates the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, our beloved “Mahatma”.
Undoubtedly Gandhi was a reckoning factor in India achieving our independence from British Imperial Raj. Gandhi always worked for upliftment of weaker sections and envisioned an India developed on every front may it be education, may it be villages, and may it be weaker sections of society.
What perplexes me is, the fact that we celebrate this great soul’s birthday as a holiday in India. I am not condemning the fact that Gandhi should be respected for his achievements. From what I learnt about Gandhi’s ideologies he literally lamented a person who is lazy and who doesn’t do any work. He always thought nation’s are built by hard working people.
Imagine the number of industries that are not productive because it is a holiday. Imagine the lax in government schemes to be implemented because it is a holiday. The fact is national productivity is halted because of October 2nd being a holiday. Gandhi never said nor implied nor even encouraged the idea of declaring his birthday as a holiday. Now if someone has to argue that in other developed countries birthday’s of popular leaders are Holidays and why not Gandhi’s birthday as a holiday, I completely disagree with that mentioning the fact that we are still a developing nation.
From the inspiration I get from Gandhi’s principles and ideology, I feel that had he been alive today he would have NEVER allowed our great nation to celebrate his birthday as a holiday.

Jai Hind
Suresh Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

Telugu Vadi Atma Gauravam

NOTE: These are my personal opinions. I humbly apologize if incase I hurt anyone’s opinions.

My deep condolences for Late Shri. Dr. Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy. I have utmost respect for our people's leader Dr.Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy garu who not only was viable in integrating the different regions of Andhra Pradesh but also provided people centric schemes that supported almost every other family in Andhra Pradesh. Dr. Y.S.R's legacy will remain in the hearts of Telugu people in and around the world.

Coming to the point, about the decision that is been delayed to make our own "telugu bidda", Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Jagan has undoubtedly support of 152 MLA's and majority of MPs. If the Congress high command is still evaluating the credentials of why Jagan should not be made as CM, it’s absolutely ridiculous.
Age:
Let me remind that our great leader Y.S.R was only 28 years when he contested and won his first election as MLA to AP assembly. Y.S.R was only 33 years when he was the President of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. Jagan was raised in a family nurturing politics from young age. Jagan grew up watching and learning the fundamentals of politics. Not to mention, Late Shri. Rajiv Gandhi was only 40 years old when he took over office as Prime Minister and eventually spearheaded Congress to glorious victory in 1984 general elections to Parliament (INC 411 out of 542 seats)
Experience:
Jagan is 37 years old and to his credit he manages one of the biggest media conglomerate in India. Sakshi TV, Sakshi newspaper, Jagathi publications to name a few. Jagan also heads Raghuram Cements, spread over 2,000 acres at Nallalingayapalle in Kamalapuram constituency. His initiative got Dalmia Cements and Bramhani steel plant at Jammalamadugu, Easwar Cements in Mylavaram and Rs. 270-crore Govindaraja spinning mills in Pulivendula. Jagan is undoubtedly a smart business man and has experience and ability to manage organizations.
Andhra Politics:
Congress in AP needs a leader who can integrate the disgruntled leaders under one arm and make the government run with no obstacles. There are definitely able leaders in Congress who can achieve this task. But their ability to manage leaders from different regions (Telangana, Rayalaseema, and Coastal) is limited. Y.S.R left a legacy only his family inheritor can carry. Jagan with his vast experience managing media conglomerates and multi crore businesses brings to the table what is needed at this hour of crisis in Andhra politics.
We, the people of Andhra Pradesh need a leader who can guide us thorough a definite vision of developing the state in next 5 years by bringing foreign investments and developing state's infrastructure. We need a leader who can continue the present people centric schemes and implement more schemes for the betterment of people of Andhra Pradesh.
10 Janpath: Being a "teluguvadu", Dr.Y.S.R garu did commendable activities for uplifting the state's glory in the map of India. Now after his death, the people of Congress high commmand are still wrestling to decide who should be the next Chief Minister even though there are no contenders other than Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy. What has happened to "telugu vadi atma gauravam". Providing 34 MP's to the Parliament that made present UPA come to power in 15th Lok Sabha, why should we be put in a poition where "teluguvadi" sensibilities are being hurt. Y.S. Jagan is undoubtedly people's choice for Chief Minister.
Ahdhra Pradesh needs an able, efficient, dynamic leader at this hour of crisis.

Jai Hind.
Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

What Next: Andhra Pradesh after YSR. (2:10 pm EST 9/2/2009)

What Next: AP after YSR.

I sincerely regret to even speculate at this time (2.08pm 9/2/2009 EST) that our beloved leader Y.S.RajaSekhar Reddy is dead.
In the event of YSR’s death, I am outlining what it may hold to Andhra Pradesh politics.

Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of YSR, would be offered the Chief Minister seat. It would be difficult time for Y.S.Jagan to cope up with his father’s untimely death and run the government effectively. But taking into consideration his vast experience in managing newspapers, media outlets and government officials he will certainly raise to the occasion and perform well over expectations.

The other option would be Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, which is very nominal as he soft spoken and doesn’t necessarily have the charisma to manage disgruntled Congress factions.

The other prominent leaders who might emerge from National politics to handle the crisis in the unfortunate event would be Mr.Jaipal Reddy who has been a viable candidate for long time. He might be the first option for Congress Central coterie, taking into account his vast political experience and command on state leaders. Dr.Rosaiah would also be a candidate, but his ability to manage individual Congress leaders in limited. Dr.Subbi Rami Reddy might be considered, but again his influence on state leaders is limited even though he has huge respect and credibility in Congress circles.

On the other hand "Raja Guru" of TDP might come up with a strategy in which, TDP with its over 90 MLA’s might come up with an offer to support any person from Congress who would divide Congress party MLA’s to form the Government. That way Congress can be divided which would eventually lead to mid term polls.
PRP might as well try to or even offer the same strategy to either support a person from Congress who would divide the party.

Let us all pray for our leader’s safety at this moment.

Jai Hind.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://sureshmatta.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-next-andhra-pradesh-after-ysr-210.html' title='What Next: Andhra Pradesh after YSR. I humbly apologize incase I hurt anyone’s particular affiliation to any political party)

Scenario 1: Congress (140 – 160 seats)
Congress will form government and run for 5 years. Y.S.RajaSekhar Reddy will be able to run the government for 5 years with more people centric schemes and irrigation projects. There will be more corruption charges. No one in Congess will ever dare to speak against YSR.

Scenario 2: Mahakootami (130-150)
TDP will form government. Form day 1 there will be huge confusion who is running government. First 2 years will focus on power sharing of coalition parties. People will have lots and lots of entertainment in newspapers on how worst politics and politicians can go to get power.
Since it’s a “dina dina gandam” government, there will hardly be any schemes beneficial to government.

Scenerio 3:
Lok Satta (10-15)
PRP: (40-60)
BJP: (4-8)
MIM: 4
TDP will forego Mahakootami. PRP will support government from “outside”. Power sharing only between PRP and TDP. Chief Minister sharing deal for half the terms.
Congress will try its best to collapse the deal and form its own government with support from MIM and TRS. People will have “masala” news all year long and TV channels will prosper.

Scenario 4:
No single party will win majority. Even if Congress gets less than 110 seats it will become increasingly difficult for Congress to establish government as they need to “manage” 35-40 MLA’s. Only MIM will support Congress with its MLA’s not more than 4. Unless TRS comes out of Mahakootami saying Congress promised to pass the bill for Telangana, Congress will not be able to form government. There is a good probability PRP will support only TDP.

End: In the event of mid term elections, people will look for alternative in “dirty” politics and unanimously vote Lok Satta to power.

Regards,
Suresh Matta

VOTE for Lok Satta

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nnLVdzRlD_A/Se3q0NBe54I/AAAAAAAADHI/dZ18UX_dkbc/s400/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327172116819142530" />

mera bharat mahaan

First of all, my condolences to great heroes of my country who died fighting heroically with coward terrorists. May their soul rest in peace.
Who is responsible: The first thing that comes to minds of every Indian on the “Mumbai Siege Incident” are shocked and terrified. After the long 60 hour battle with coward terrorists, we- the people, started blaming government for the failure to prevent attacks. Isn’t it “we” who elected the representatives to form the government. So does this mean we, the people, are to be blamed for the ghastly incident?
In my “personal” opinion (without offending anyone else opinions) I feel its ‘us’ who are responsible for not preventing the incident. We elect officials who run our government who are incapable of protecting our country. From the newspaper articles it seems that the equipment used by Army, NSG was outdated to confront with Terrorists. (I have outmost respect to army, navy, police, NSG personnel who defended my country. So please don’t get my opinions wrong.) But who takes the decision to buy the equipment. Again its our own elected representatives who are appointed as minister’s due to nepotism rather then their individual ability.
Analyze This: Let’s analyze the whole incident. The total numbers of terrorists involved in the operation were, according to news sources, 10. They are believed to come via sea route to Mumbai. They are between ages 21-30, well trained in using ammunitions and explosives. Let’s connect the loops now.
Coming via the sea route should have taken atleast 8-10 hours in sea. This means there is a very good reason to believe that they are prone to dehydration.
That basically means the energy levels are less, unless they are on some “military” medication. Where did they get this “military” medication from?
The two terrorists who killed Hemanat Karkare, Vijay Kalaskar, Ashok Kamte are according to the story of the constable, the only survivor, were hiding behind a tree and shot the officers and other constables using AK 47. How did the terrorists know that the officers were coming in that route. Why were they hiding behind the tree which was exactly in the route? In a big city like Mumbai, no one noticed two terrorists hiding behind tree with AK 47’s.
The terrorists fought continuously for about 60 hours. Taking into account the number of terrorists in Taj hotel were 3-4, how did they manage to fight in that tremendous pressure without sleep. How were they able to control hostages, burn buildings, fight our elite NSG commandos at the same time?
Even if the terrorists had complete maps of hotels and locations how were they so successful in locating targets in those pressure situations.
All these means without internal help its highly impossible to make this happen.
Learn from past mistakes: Every time there is a bomb blast in India we blame Pakistan’s ISI. But after a month or so no one really talks about it. Why are we forgetting incidents that tear our country’s sovereignty? Why don’t we come with proofs of Pakistan’s involvement before international community and prove their involvement. (In the past there were incidents where we were able to successfully prove Pakistan’s involvement with limited proof, but to no avail). May it be train bombings, parliament attacks, Mumbai siege I feel my “bharathamaata” has seen enough and its time we need answers. By answers I mean not begging other countries to give the culprits. They should be hunted and killed, when we know where they are hiding.
Mera Bharat Mahaan: One thing sure to feel proud is the way Mumbai city rebounded after the incidents. The opening of Leopold’s café in less than 3 days after the incident shows the courage and determination we Indians have.
No Terrorist can decide the way we live in our country. There were terrorists in the past centuries like Ghazni, Babar who plundered our most sacred temples and wealth. All of them died. But my India stands today, withstanding all the evil acts with determination and courage.
We have to see the issue of terrorism as related to particular people’s ideology rather than relate it to a religion. India belongs to every Indian who pledges allegiance to our country and flag. No matter Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikh… as long as we bow down before Bharathmaata we are all sons of India.
What needs to be done: We need to elect representatives who will think about our country’s interest rather than party interest. We need to question our representatives when they fail to protect us. We need to name the streets against the great heroes who died fighting in the battle as a respect to their sacrifice for our country. We need have young leaders who have overall vision of the present global impact we as Indians have in the world. We need to have leaders who will guide us in the right direction of nationalism. We need to elect representatives who will teach us the right meaning of “Jai Hind”.
In this hour of crisis let all Indians stand for one cause. “FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM”.

Jai Hind.
Suresh Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

TANA ----TANDANA

TANA ----TANDANA:
First of all, these are my personal opinions and not intended to hurt anyone opinions/feelings.
For the past few days, I have been going through emails/articles/responses from TANA committee members and President.
The whole point in forming a “non profit” organization is (or may be) to help, guide, and assist people. What is TANA doing? To my knowledge I have never heard of any charity work being done nor any form of financial assistantship to any Telugu(s). I have heard TANA in news only when a political party in Hyderabad mentions them and that too news related to politics. If it is non profit why the (hell) are committee members associated or aligned with political parties. I am not saying association with a particular political party is wrong. My point is if you are associated with a non profit organization like TANA, a committee member should NOT take TANA position as advantage to get political mileage.

Coming from Andhra Pradesh, I always wanted to mingle with people from my state and be active in my community to help people. Whenever I mentioned this to my colleagues and friends to join TANA, all I heard was TANA is full of politics.

Why should we have differences in an alien land? Can’t we be united to help each other? Why can’t TANA have a website (or fund a website) where employers can post job requirements which might be helpful for other Telugus in the community. Almost 1 in 3 of Telugu people has some sort of business in USA. 2 in 3 are willing to help other people in need. Why can’t TANA provide assistance for people out job by helping them with recruiting process? Leave all this, I NEVER heard TANA”s name when AP students are killed in USA and need financial assistance to deliver their bodies to India.
“Ooru kani ooru viccchi enduku manaki ee panikirani rajakeeyalu”…
The whole point of the present conflict as I understand is change of TANA’s venue place from Florida to Chicago. Don’t we have anything better to fight about?
Think about collecting funds to have bore wells in villages. Think about starting schools for poor children in AP. If an organization like TANA comes up with these activities, it will develop a trust in people who are willing to donate for a noble cause.
Last but not least, let’s stand united to help our community and each other rather than waste our most valuable time in pursuing worthless personal egos.
“Ye Desamegina Yendu Kaalidina Pogadara Mee Thalli Bhoomi Bharathi Ni!!
Nilupara ni jaathi nindu gauravam”
Jai HIND
Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

"Praja Rajyam" Chiru:: What Next?

"Praja Rajyam" Chiru:: What Next?
What’s next for Chiru: I was thinking what Chiranjeevi would do inorder to impress people/vote bank. These are the things I came up with that Chiru would be doing in the next few months…
1. Chiru would pray in a mosque. There will be heavy media attention to this event.
2. Chiru would be eating dinner/lunch in a very middle class family’s house. There will also be heavy media attention to this event.
3. Chiru will launch an outfit (other than party) that would deal specifically with corruption. Just like the ATF in ‘Tagore’
4. Chiru will organize huge ‘Homam’ calling gods to wish Andhra Pradesh with blessings. Again as you know there will be huge media attention.
5. On his way to proposed RathaYatra (around Andhra Pradesh)• Chiru will ride a bullock cart,• Chiru will weave a cloth, • Chiru will even press a shirt in a laundry, • Chiru will cut hair….(this way Chiru will be “Andarivadu”)
6. Chiru will either support nor deny separate Telangana.
7. Chiru will organize “saha pankthi bhojanalu” (people of all castes eating together).
8. Chiru’s party symbol might be “train” as Train always goes forward, which will signify the development of people.
My Friends, I am as good fan of Chiru as anyone of you. I sincerely appreciate Chiranjeevi coming to politics. There is lot of hope he is generating among people like me who wish to see my country without corruption and eradicate poverty. I hope and wish him all the best wishes and success.--sarvejana sukhinobhavanthu---
Jai Hind
Suresh
chilldesi@gmail.com

Chiranjeevi in Politics

http://www.greatandhra.com/ganews/viewnews.php?id=2253&scat=18

When will Chiranjeevi enter politics??This is the hot topic now. Lets see the pros and cons of Chiru entering politics. First of all, is Chiru good leader or good politician. There is lot of difference being politician and leader. Chiru has enormous charisma that he can generate masses to follow him and his speeches, which makes him a good leader.
The way Chiru reacted for MohanBabu's comments on Vajrotsavam maynot make him a smart politician. One good thing before the speech, is Chiru took time to react to Mohanbabu's comments, may be its someone (?) else idea to do so...Undoubtedly Chiru has the following similar to NTR during 1983. His larger than life image is "Na Bhutho Na Bhavishyathi"....

Andhra Politics: Rightnow there is a lot of buzz in AP on BC forming their own gathering(i wouldn't say political party as there are many people who are not united on one front) and Kapus from andhra region are emerging to be a major power players. BC leaders definitely need a leader(not politician) to take the "gathering" to masses. Thats one reason they are pursuing Chiru to enter BC Aikya Vedika.

Why is Chiru waiting:Chiru has very smart and best advisors(or advisor) around him. There is still more than 2 years for next elections. If Chiru enters now into Politics, he might as well loose his folowing by the time the elections are due, which is what NTR did entering politics(creating party) before 9 months election. People at this point are fed up with both Congress and TDP. They are looking for someone whom they can believe, whom they can relive on.My assumption is that, Chiru will definitely enter politics. The timing is very important. Logically, he might enter a party before 6-7 months of election. He might not start a new party as it requires lot of money and resources. He might not join TDP or Congress as he knows that they will just use him for their benefit. The only best possible option is Lok Satta,
........as Lok Satta is being backed by a powerful community and has a a very good reputation in people. All Lok Satta needs is a charismatic leader like Chiru. All Chiru needs is a genuine party with "believable" idealogy. The type of position Chiru is in now, he doesnot need to enter politics to make money. He is at a stage where he enjoys success and already crossed many phases of life. So NAME is more important to Chiru. Larger Than Life: The charitable trusts started by Chiru help thousands of people and motivate lakhs of people. He has to do many more things like this for a social cause. People believe Chiru for what he is and he has lot of charisma. May be, he has to start a website where NRI fans/audience can donate money. Chiru can use this to fund his activities of charity. In a nutshell, Chiru will definitely enter politics, timing is very important..Disclaimer ::
THE OPINIONS EXPRESSED ABOVE ARE MY PERSONAL OPINIONS WHICH I FELT MAKES SENSE LOGICALLY. I DONOT INTEND TO OFFEND ANYONE. IF ANYONE GETS OFFENDED PLEASE EXCUSE ME. MY HUMBLE APOLOGIES. Before I continue the article I sincerely apologize if I offend anyone’s feelings. These are my personal opinions.Let’s see, what makes us proud to be Indian. Past 60 years have been a great run for the biggest democratic country in the world. It took only 50 years for us to be a nuclear nation challenging “superior” powers. We definitely made advances in fields of Information Technology, Education, Women empowerment, medicine etc., We succeeded in many areas and there are definitely lot more things for us to achieve. At this moment of pride, I would like to salute each and every freedom fighter who fought independence. The nation definitely has greatest freedom fighters (other than Gandhi’s and Nehru’s) whom we have forgotten to remember at this moment. I would like to mention four freedom fighters whom I like because of their character and sacrifices.
1. Bala Gangadhar Tilak
2. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
3. Swami Vivekananda
4. Sardar Vallabhai PatelBala

Ganngahdar Tilak: Most of us know July 4th as American Independence Day, but how many of us know it as the birthday of our greatest inspirational leader Bala Gangadhar Tilak. He was also one of the pioneers to start Ganesh Chaturdhi as “sarvajanik” festival to unite the nation on one front. This makes him my most adored freedom fighter
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: The only words that resonate in my ears when I listen to the name Netaji are “Mujhe khoon dho...Main Azadi doonga”. He was the one who made popular “Jai Hind”

Swami Vivekananda: Although he was not active freedom fighter, he and his teachings were inspirational to many freedom fighters. Had it been not to Swami Vivekananda not many nations around the world would have known that there is a religion called “Hinduism”.

Sardar Vallabhai Patel: Had it been not the guts and strategy of Patel, India would have had many more “Kashmir’s’. I salute this brave soldier of BharatMatha who was responsible for integrating our country.
I would like my fellow Indians to add the names of the freedom fighters so that we pay our honors to these legends on this day for their sacrifices.
I would also like to suggest that there is still a lot to achieve for us in eradicating poverty, improving our infrastructure, providing minimum education etc., We have to hunt down the perpetrators of our sovereignty no matter in which country they hide. Whatever might be the face of mayhem (Bombay blasts, parliament attacks, 7/11 blasts, Masjid blasts) let us all unite to bring those involved to justice. Again, with outmost respect to my country, I wish all my fellow Indians ‘happy independence day’
JAI HIND.
Suresh Matta

Why Rajiv Gandhi International Airport?

This article is not intended to offend any person's feelings/opinions. These are my own opinions which I thought of sharing with my fellow Indians. I apologize if I offended anyone's feelings.
The launching of Shamshabad International Airport is definitely a great moment of pride for us. One of the many people to be appreciated for achieving this daunting task is Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu for his vision to establish the airport. It was under Naidu's regime that the initiation of the airport took place. One of the other person to be appreciated is Mr.Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy for his efforts to complete the project. Having these two "dynamic and charismatic" politicians is a boon for state of Andhra Pradesh.
The details are good till this point. I was thinking why we named the airport Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Shri.Rajiv Gandhi was definitely one of the most dynamic leaders India had. No arguments or discussions about it. Now that the airport has been named Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, cadres from Telugu Desam Party(TDP) are protesting to rename the airport to N.T.Rama Rao International airport. As we all know Shri.N.T. Rama Rao was also the most charismatic leader and politician we ever had. No arguments or discussions about it.
The issue is, why should we name an international airport against persons who are associated with contemporary political parties. As everyone would agree the leaders I mentioned above deserve every respect and honor. No arguments or discussions about it. My point is aren't we marginalizing ourselves naming such important landmarks by people associated with present day politics. I mean why don't we name the airport after freedom fighters, whom we forget (other than Gandhi).
There are many freedom fighters from our own state like Kandukuri Veeresalingham Pantulu, Potti Sreeramulu, Alluri Sitaramraju to name a few. Even at the national level there are freedom fighters like Sardar Vallabhai Patel without whose efforts our capital Hyderabad would still be a Nawab's territory. Why cant we name it after Sarojini Naidu sending a right signal to the world about women empowerment in our state. Why can't we name it after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, chief architect of Indian constitution, who worked all his life for the deprived sections in India. Don't our governments claim to be for the empowerment for lower classes and women. Doesn't it makes sense to name an airport against whom everyone will agree irrespective of all the party lines. Isn't that the respect these great leaders deserve for their contributions towards our country.
Lets consider our history. There are greatest personalities whom we as Indians feel proud to be associated with. As everyone knows its Indians that gave mathematical number "zero" for the world. History says its been used by in Pingala's binary representation. How about Aryabhatta the greatest Indian astronomer and mathematician. How about our greatest emperors Akbar and Ashoka. I can definitely come up with list of names that represent our greatest history.

Again my friends, I am not saying that our contemporary leaders Mr.N.T.Rama Rao and Mr. Rajiv Gandhi donot deserve to have their name on the airport. Its just that we are creating a political ruckus naming the airport with their names. May Shri.N.T.Rama Rao and Shri. Rajiv Gandhi soul rest in peace.
SARVEJANA SUKHINOBHAVANTHU.
Jai Hind
Suresh Matta

Happy Independence Day 2008

Happy Independence Day: My friends…exactly a year ago I wrote an article on Independence Day regarding our greatest freedom fighters. http://www.greatandhra.com/ganews/viewnews.php?id=2034&scat=17

First of all, our greatest land “bharathamatha” completed its 61 years of Independence. Moment of pride to Indians residing in India and Indians all over the world. Gradually and slowly, my India is growing to be superpower.
Let’s consider something’s which make us feel proud and something’s which we need to move on…
First of all, in 108 years our “Indian Pride” Abhinav Bindra got us one of the greatest achievement. Gold Medal. My hearty congratulations.
Let’s appreciate Mr.Manmohan Singh’s efforts for striving to make the nuclear energy dream com true, which will make India self sustainable in energy. So he is definitely “Singh is Kingh” of the hour.
Lets feel proud about the exponential growth in sectors like Information Technology, Education (IIT’s especially), missile technology, medicine …to name a few. A lot achived ..a lot more to achieve.
Lets’ take pride to be the most populous democracy in the world in addition to the home for four major religions (Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism).Let’s honor our greatest army “jawans” who sacrificed their lives in protecting ‘India’s” integrity.

Things we need to change:
Let’s not let our political leader(s) decide which part of India we are from and where should we live. Let’s stand united as Indians and let the leaders know India is a sovereign country with every citizen having the right to live in any part of India.
Let’s stand united in protecting our ancestral religious symbols, may it be Raam Sethu or anything.
Let’s take this moment of pride to condemn the bomb blasts that our enemies are doing to create havoc in our country.
Let’s donot mix politics with national harmony. Let’s doNOT elect the leaders who sell their identity and rotten our image of democracy.

Last but not least, let’s honor our greatest freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for us to have this moment of pride. -Bala Gangadhar Tilak-Subhash Chandra Bose-Lala Lajpat Rai-Bhagat Singh-Sardar Vallabhai Patel-Alluri Seetharamaraju-Tangutoori Veeresalingam Panthulu…just to name a very few of “bharathamatha” greatest son’s …
Jai Hind
Suresh Matta
chilldesi@gmail.com

"Praja Rajyam" Chiru:: What Next?

I hope and wish him all the best wishes and success.

--sarvejana sukhinobhavanthu---

Jai Hind
Suresh
chilldesi@gmail.com
